Taking place on Friday 27th April 2018 as part of the two day ITI UK and Ireland Congress 2018 the Corporate Forum provides delegates with an opportunity to understand more about the latest clinical and technical developments in implant dentistry.
The Forums this year are sponsored by Straumann and botiss. Straumann have invited Master Dental Technician Vincent Fehmer to discuss ‘Implant-borne reconstruction: a contemporary approach’ and leading clinician Gary Finelle to present his thoughts on the ‘Evolution in modern implantology: digital workflow in the aesthetic zone and posterior area’. Leading implantologist Oliver Blume will present the latest thinking on ‘Digitally designed bone augmentation’ on behalf of botiss.
These forums will highlight the latest technologies within the “digital workflow” to deliver the ultimate aesthetic result using digital planning, intraoral scanning and computer-aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CADCAM).
Gary Finelle will discuss the technological advances in 3D intraoral scanners and CADCAM and how these changes are impacting future practice by improving the multi-disciplinary approach and facilitating communication within the team. Vincent Fehmer will present his thoughts on the advances in digital dentistry including the ‘ideal’ material choice for anterior and posterior restorations. Delegates will gain an enhanced view of digital dentistry and each lecture will be illustrated with case examples.
A comprehensive understanding of the techniques and materials available for bone augmentation is vital for all dentists placing implants. During this lecture Oliver Blume will highlight some of the latest advances including patient customised allogenic bone blocks for two-stage alveolar ridge augmentation. Based on CT/CBCT scans of the patient, the bone block is virtually designed using the latest 3D CADCAM technology and the final product is then milled from processed cancellous bone blocks originating from living human donors. Oliver will illustrate the use of these materials with case examples.
The forums will conclude with a question and answer session and each of the speakers will take questions from the floor.
