Sue Karran, Director of Manan Ltd. asks you to help a very worthwhile cause

Following on from the incredible success of the 2014 Straumann Charity Bike Ride fundraising event, Straumann UK are proud to announce the third intercontinental Straumann Charity Bike Ride. The 45 riders in this year’s event will cycle 450 miles across northern Spain from Cap D’Agde to San Sebastian in just 5 days from the 15th – 19th September. This route is famed for its outstanding beauty and huge mountains and it’s said that wolves and bears still run wild in the remote valleys!

Screen Shot 2016-06-07 at 15.32.10The two previous rides in 2013 and 2014 raised significant sums for the chosen charity Bridge2Aid and this year Straumann are committed to raising at least £50,000 for this very worthwhile cause.

I took part in the first ride in 2013, skipped the 2014 ride, and here I am back riding again in 2016! The ride isn’t easy; it takes a lot of commitment. From training and raising sponsorship to taking time away from family and friends, everyone puts in the hard work to ensure they’re strong enough to do it and at the end there is a real sense of achievement and wellbeing for all those involved. For me, the ride inspires me to get fit, raise money for a cause that means something to me, and have the opportunity to do something extraordinary.

According to a Bridge2Aid report, 75% of the world’s population don’t have access to a dentist and it is their charitable aim to provide emergency dentistry and pain relief to those who need it most, as well as make a lasting change through training. Empowering local people to improve their own lives over the long-term, Bridge2Aid trains rural-based Health Workers in developing nations, providing them with the skills and resources needed to deliver emergency dental treatment in their communities. So far, Bridge2Aid has trained over 400 Health Workers creating safe, sustainable access to treatment for over 4 million people where previously there was none.

I know there are a vast number of charities and charity events and it can seem as we are constantly being asked to put our hands in our pockets, but without hesitation I am asking for your support in our efforts to raise over £50,000 for Bridge2Aid in 2016. Donations can be made by visiting Thank you!
